Paya Htaung Pagoda (AD 7th-10th Century)

Paya Htaung Pagoda is one of the pagodas built in the Thayekhittaya Pyu period. The pagoda stand on a Kala Kyaung house like some pagodas in Bagan. Each side of the house measure 38 feet in length and 8 feet in height.

Once the house had four entrances, each on one side but now they are all blocked with bricks. Its date and donor are unknown. Since 1985, the pagoda has been in the care of Archaeology Department. It is learnt that the pagoda was repaired and renovated over 70 years ago.
